Paragraph:
Environment Pollution
Environment
means our surroundings. It consists of air, water, soil and other natural
resources, that make our earth habitable for us. All the elements of
environment are well proportioned and depend upon each other. This
characteristic of environment is called ecosystem. If any element of it is
destroyed, it affects all other elements. So for our existence we must not
destroy the ecological balance. But consciously or unconsciously we are
damaging vital elements of our environment such as air, water and soil. Without
air we cannot survive for few minutes. But this air is being polluted in
various ways. Firstly we burns fuels, that creates smoke and the smoke is being
mixed with air. Secondly we are cutting plants and killing animals
indiscriminately. The plants are called factory of oxygen, receiving carbon
dioxide and releasing oxygen. For the destruction of trees, carbon dioxide and
carbon mono oxide and other harmful gases are increasing, which is ruining the
ozone layer. As a result ultraviolet ray is getting access to our environment
which will cause catastrophe for all living beings. Water pollution is another
problem that we are facing now. Sea and river water is being polluted by
industrial waste thrown in it. Oil seeped out
from the tanks of the ships mixes with water and pollutes
it. Pesticides and chemical fertilizers used by farmers are washed away by rain
water and mixed with river and pond water. So existence of aquatic animals and
plants is becoming hazardous. Soil is polluted by overuse of pesticides and
chemical fertilizers. The polybags mix up with soil and destroy its fertility.
As a result plants and crops are not growing well. So it is high time we took
proper measures to stop environmental pollution and save our mother planet.

Tree
plantation
It has been a global slogan now that plant
tree, save the tree, and save the earth. Trees are the most important gift of
nature as they are inseparably related to our life. Since the dawn of
civilization, man has a close relationship with trees. Trees produce oxygen and
reduce carbondioxide and thus make the atmosphere healthy.
Trees
give shade and shelter to people, wild life and birds. We get wood from trees
which is an essential item for house building and furniture. Fruits and many
kinds of edible stuffs are produced from trees. We also can earn a lot of money
by selling fruits and timber. Besides, trees save the soil from erosion and it
increases fertility in soil which is the major concern for farmers to grow
food.
Trees
are not only important for life, it is important for environment as well. It
checks natural calamities. Trees keep the temperature of environment
sustainable. Trees bear a great impact on climate. A country needs trees to
ensure a cool and healthy climate for her people. To maintain ecological
balance, there is no alternative to tree plantation. If there is no tree, the
balance in ecology will be seriously destroyed. Our existence in this world
cannot be imagined without trees. To speak the truth, we are totally dependent
on trees for living on this earth. A moment without oxygen which trees supply
us, will surely blow out our light of life.
But it
is a great regret that we are cutting down trees in such a huge number that the
country is going to be a treeless desert and we all will die. On the other
hand, we are severely polluting our environment with carbondioxide and thus
bring forth our all. The government has already realized the importance of
trees and celebrates tree plantation week every year. It is encouraging general
people to plant more trees. Mass media have also taken the responsibility to
air various programmes to make the people aware of it.
However,
trees are our best friends and a big saving for our future generation. So, tree
plantation should be one of our prime duties. June and July are the most
suitable period for planting trees in our country. Sea beaches, low-lying
unused lands, sides of the highways and roads can be brought under the scheme
of tree plantation. Both government and private sectors should come forward to
raise consciousness among people about the importance of tree plantation. We
must plant trees as more as possible in every available place.
Paragraph
Green House
Effect
A greenhouse is a house made of glass. It has glass walls
and a glass roof. People grow vegetables and flowers and other plants in them.
A greenhouse stays warm inside, even during winter. During the daylight hours,
a greenhouse gets warmer and warmer and stays pretty warm at night
too. This is because the heat received from the sun is trapped inside the
greenhouse by the glass. The Earth is also like a greenhouse. During the day
Earth’s surface warms up in the sunlight. At night, the surface cools releasing
the heat back into the air. But some of the heat is trapped by gases like
carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. These gases, called greenhouse gases, work
like the glass walls and the roof and keep the Earth warm. This is global
warming and it is making the Earth a dangerous planet. Unfortunately, we are
making the earth too hot. We are using oil, gas and coal for running cars,
buses, trains, planes, power stations and so on. These fuels have carbon in
them. This carbon and other gases trap the heat in the atmosphere and do not
allow the earth to cool down. As a result, the Earth gets hotter. As a result
of global warming, the ice on the Earth’s surface is melting fast due to
extreme heat. Oceans and seas are warming too. All the ice that melts will fill
up the oceans and seas and they will overflow on land. Thus a huge area of land
will go under water. Some of the best land for growing food is also the most
low-lying. That means it will be flooded first. Even some big cities like
London, Kolkata and Bangkok will get flooded. That means thousands of people
will lose their houses and land and they will go hungry. Moreover, as the
earth’s climate warms up, the weather gets more violent. Storms and cyclones
will become more powerful. More areas will get drier and turn into deserts.
There will be heavier rains too. So there will be more floods and river
erosion. All the concern countries should come forward to solve the problem of
green house effect so that people can live in the earth happily.

Seasons of Bangladesh
There are six
seasons in Bangladesh. They are Summer, Rainy Season, Autumn, Late Autumn,
Winter and Spring.
The Summer is the
first season in Bangali calendar. Baishakh and Jaistha make the summer season.
During summer, the sun shines hotly. The heat is unbearable. Water goes dry.
Pond, canals, lakes and small rivers go dry. Extreme heat makes everything
lifeless. People cannot work easily. Summer is also called the season of fruits.
Various kinds of fruits like Mangoes, Jackfruits and other fruits of Bangladesh
ripen in this season.
Then Rainy Season
comes. Ashar and Shravan are the months of the rainy season. During the rainy
season the sky looks cloudy. Sometimes the sun is not seen. It rains heavily.
Rivers, tanks, ponds and canals become full to the brim. It rains cats and
dogs. Students cannot go to schools, madrashas and colleges. Road becomes muddy
and rough. The rainy season is very useful for our country. Our agriculture depends
on this rain. We get enough fishes in this season. After the rain the autumn
comes.
Badra and Ashin are
the months of the Autumn. The cloudy sky becomes clear with the coming of the
Autumn.
Then the Late Autumn
comes. Katrick and Agrahayon make this season. It is the season of dew. The
paddy begins to ripe. The farmers are busy with their harvests.
After late
autumn, the Winter comes. Poush and Magh are the months of Winter season. It is
the season of fog. Nature becomes gloomy. People shiver in cold. Various
delicious Vegetables grow and people eat them.
Falgun and chaitra make the Spring. It is the king of
seasons. It is neither very cold nor very hot. Nature looks beautiful. Trees
get new leaves. Flower bloom. A gentle breeze blows. It is the season of joy.
The cuckoo sings sweet songs. It is called the king of all the seasons.
All the six seasons make Bangladesh a beautiful country.
We love our country of six seasons very much.

Discipline
The word discipline is derived from a Latin word ‘discipulus’.
‘Discipulus’ means a disciple obeys the orders of his master without any
question. So discipline is a moral quality. Discipline means obedience to law
and order. It is necessary to obey the rules of discipline because human
progress depends on it.
Men live in a society. He cannot do whatever he likes. So he has to obey
some rules and regulations. If everybody violates the rules of discipline, the
society will get chaotic. So discipline has a great value in every sphere of
our life. It is essential for happiness and progress.
Discipline may be classified into three types. They are personal
discipline, public discipline, and religious discipline. Personal discipline is
formulated by the person himself. Public discipline is imposed by the state and
law. And religious discipline is regulated by the religion one follows.
Everyone in the army is to lead a strictly disciplined life. If the
soldier does not obey orders or if the General does not obey instructions, the
army becomes at once a mere rabble. Difficulties or dangers cannot divert a
soldier from carrying out the orders of his commanders.
Discipline is strictly maintained in games and sports. A player has to
obey the decisions of the referee or umpire and the captain of the team. A
disciplined team always wins over an undisciplined team.
In every house there is a sort of government. All the members obey and
respect the head of the family. And the head leads the family in a disciplined
way. A disciplined family leads a healthier and happier life.
A student has to obey the rules of the institute. He has to carry out
the order or advice of his superiors, show respect to his teachers. The
teachers and the staff also obey the rules of the institute.
An office cannot run smoothly if the juniors do not obey the orders of
the seniors. Discipline is essential for the growth and development of all the
social, political or economic organizations. The society and the state depend
upon the disciplined conduct of their members. Discipline is found even in the
society of the lower animals.
Discipline has a great importance at every sphere of life. It ensures
safety, peace, progress and happiness to all.
The achievements of our civilization are the rewards of discipline.
Discipline makes a man real and pure one. Thus nothing can go on smoothly
without discipline. There can be no progress and no stability of a society or a
state without discipline.
Life in modern time has become complicated. So the necessities of
discipline have become greater now. Again life without discipline means a life
full of chaos. So we should lead our lives in a disciplined manner
