Clause: A clause means a part of sentence having a
subject and a predicate of its own.
Kinds of
clause: Basically, there
are two kinds of clause.They are-
1. Principal
Clause,
2.Subordinate
Clause.
* *There is
another kind of clause named Co-ordinate Clause.
Principal
Clause:
The
Clause that can make a complete sense by itself and does not have to depend on
any other clause is called Principal Clause.
Example: I know the boy who is honest.
Subordinate
Clause( Subordinate clause is of three kinds):
The
clause that is dependent on another clause to make a complete sense is called a
Subordinate
Examples: I
know the boy who is honest.
Co- ordinate
Clause: A sentence having
two Principal Clauses is called a Co-ordinate Clause.
Example: My
friend is a good student but his brother is a bad student.
