My Hometown
The name of my home town is Kushtia. Kushtia is a small town under Khulna Division. It stands on the river of Gorai. The area of Kushtia district is about 1621.15 square kilometers. About 25 lacks people live here. They are Muslims, Hinduism and other religions. It has six upazilas, 61 union parishads and 978 villages. It has one public university (Islamic University), one public medical college and public schools and colleges.  It has also private schools, colleges and universities. Besides, there are big shopping malls, hospitals, clinics, temples, mills and factories etc in our district. Kushtia is the home of many famous poets, authors, singers, actors and actress.  It is well-known to all for Shilaidaha Kuthibari and Lanon Shai Mazar. In fact, I am very proud of my home town.
The Liberation War Museum
Liberation War Museum is an important place for our nation. There are many relics of our freedom fighters in this museum. It is situated at Segunbagicha, Dhaka. Last month I with my parents visited the museum. There are six galleries in the museum. These galleries exhibit rare photographs, documents, newspaper clippings and objects used by our freedom fighters and martyrs. At gallery-3, there is independence’s declaration copy by Bangabandhu Sheikh Majibbur Rahman. At gallarery-6, we find a pair of glasses, a pen, a note-book, a money bag, a mudded shirt and other things used by our freedom fighters and martyrs.  It is a great experience of my life. I shall never forget it.
A Great Experience of your Life
Life is a collection of some moments or days. Every man has some special events and experiences in life. I have some events and experiences in my life. Saint Martin’s Island
Bangladesh is a land of natural beauties. There are many beautiful places in our country. Saint Martin’s Island is one of them. It is a small island. It is the only coral island in Bangladesh. The local name of the island is “Narikel Jinjira.” It is very beautiful to see. It has different shapes and colours . Going there anybody can enjoy the beautiful coral od Saitnt Martit’s Island. Besides, there are different kinds of fishes in this island. There is a tourist spot. It is 26 nautical miles away from Teknaf. Anybody can go there by sea bus. The island is full of natural beauties. Many tourists come to visit here every year.
The Main Tourist Spots in Bangladesh
Bangladesh is a land of natural beauties. There are many tourist spots in our country. They are attractive and enjoyable to see. Cox’s Bazar, the Saint Martin’s Island, Srimangal, Madhobkundu are the main tourist spots of our country. Cox’s Bazar is the most popular tourist spot in our country. It is the longest sea beach in our country.  The scenery of Cox’s Bazar is very charming. The Saint Martin’s Island is also a great tourist spot in our country. It is the only coral island of our country. Srimangal is a beautiful tourist spot. It is full of the tea gardens. Madhobkundu are famous for its beautiful waterfalls. Besides, there are Khagrachari Hill Tracts, Bagerhat Shat Gambuj Mosque, Mahsthangarh etc. We are really proud of these tourist spots.
My evening activities/
What I usually do in the evening
Every man does some activities in the evening. I am a student. I have some activities in the evening. I always do my duties according to a routine. In the evening, I usually wash my face and hands and say my evening prayer. Then I take some light foods. After that I go to my reading room and study from 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. At first, I complete my homework. After completing my study, I watch cartoon on TV. Sometimes I play video games on computer and read newspapers.  At 10.30 p.m. I take my dinner with my parents. Then I brush my teeth. I go to bed at 11 p.m.
A Firefighter
A fire fighter is a person who fights with destructive fire. He is a familiar figure in our country. Firefighters are seen in each country in the world. There is no country in the world where there is no fire service. However, a firefighter generally works in the fire department. He wears his departmental uniform. . His main job is to put out fire. It is a very risky job. Physical fitness, strength, courage, speed, balance are very important for this kind of job. A firefighter always remains on duty. When he gets the news of any accident, he goes to the spot. Then he fights with fire and saves others’ lives at the risk of his own life. He is a great social worker. He plays an important role in our society.In fact, a firefighter is a protector of our society. We should respect him for his noble work.
Food   Pyramid
Food pyramid is a chart to show the five groups of foods. This chart tells us how much of each group of food we should eat. The base or the bottom of the pyramid contains breads, cereals, rice, noodles, potatoes etc. We should eat plenty of these foods. There are some fresh fruits and vegetables in the next group. We must eat them regularly. As we go up the pyramid, we can find dairy products such as milk, cheese etc. There are also meat, fish, beans, nuts and eggs. We should eat this food item moderately. They are very important for our health but we do not need too much of them.  And at the top we have fats, oils, sweets, etc. We should eat very little of these food.
My Favourite Game/ My Favourite Sport
There are many games and sports in our country. They are football, cricket, volley-ball, tennis, badminton, hockey etc. My favourite game is football. It is very interesting and enjoyable. The game is played between two teams. Each team has eleven players. There are one goalkeeper, two backs, three half-backs and five forward players in each team. There are a referee and two linesmen. They conduct the game properly. When the referee whistles, the game starts. The game runs for ninety minutes. All the players have to obey the rules of game. Football is a popular game in the world. It keeps our body fit
Leisure
Leisure means one’s free time. It is time for enjoying oneself. Every man has leisure time.  People spend their leisure time by doing different activities like reading, writing, drawing, walking, fishing, watching TV, gardening etc. I am a student. So, I have also leisure time. My leisure time is different from other person. I spend my leisure time by reading story books, newspapers, drawing and painting. Sometimes I watch TV and play indoor and outdoor games. Sometimes I also go out for walking and swimming. They keep me fit and strong. So, every man should enjoy leisure time by doing something.
Myself
I am Arif. I live in Kushtia. I am nine years old. I am a student. I read in class five. The name of my school is Kushtia Zilla School. My father’s name is Md Abdul Jalil. He is a teacher. My mother’s name is Fatema Khatun. She is a housewife. I have one brother and one sister. They both are students. I have a pet. It is a cat. I call it Mimi. It likes fish and milk. My favourite hobby is gardening and reading books. My favourite game is football.
My Family
Every man lives in a family. I am a student of class six. So, I live in my family. I have a small family. It consists of my father, mother, grandmother, my younger sister and myself. My father’s name is Md Abdul Jalil. He is a teacher. My mother’s name is Fatema Khatun.She is a housewife. My grandmother is about sixty but he is still active. She helps my mother in household works. My young sister reads in class three. She is very intelligent. We help each other in our work. Really we are a good and happy family.
Sidr in Bangladesh
Bangladesh is a land of natural calamities.  Every year earthquake flood, cyclone, drought etc visit our country. Sidr is one kind of cyclonic storm. It looks like an eye. It was a terrible cyclone of the 2007 season. Sidr attacked the southern coastal areas of Bangladesh on 15 November, 2007. It violently hit on the southern districts of both Khulna and Barisal divisions. The cyclone ‘Sidr’ broke all the records of the past.  It had caused a great damage to crops, property and animals. Houses, cattle and other animals were washed away. Trees were uprooted and roads and crops were gone under water. Thousands of people became homeless, shelterless, foodless, clothless. Many people and wild animals died. Our government took proper steps to help the affected people. The government also wanted help from foreign countries. They have also extended their help. During Sidr both people and young students helped the affected people in many ways.  In fact, Sidr was a terrible cyclone.  The people of our country will never forget it
Cyclone Aila ( Chittagong board 2016)
Bangladesh is a land of natural calamities.  Every year earthquake flood, cyclone, drought etc visit our country. The word ‘Alia means dolphin. Aila is one kind of cyclonic storm.  It was the second tropical cyclone of the 2009 season. It was created by tidal surge of the Bay of Bangal. Aila violently hit 14 districts on the south –western parts of Bangladesh and west Bengal in India on 25th May 2009.  The coastal areas of Bangladesh were largely damaged by Aila. It was more serious than Cyclone Aila. The cyclone ‘Aila’ broke all the records of the past. It had caused a great damage to crops, property and wild animals. Houses, cattle and other animals were washed away. Trees were uprooted and roads and crops were gone under water. Thousands of people became homeless, shelterless, foodless, clothless. Many people and wild animals died. Our government took proper steps to help the affected people. The government also wanted help from foreign countries. They have also extended their help. Some things, like learning to speak English fluently, take a really long time. It might seem like too much work. But the only way to achieve your goals is to start working now.

In love and romance, you sometimes do things that aren't very nice. For example, you might break up with someone or steal another person's partner. This phrase means that that's OK.
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."
You can't work all of the time. You have to relax as well.

You should be careful, even if it seems like it's not necessary. The consequences if something goes wrong are much worse than wasting a little time and effort by being careful.

When you have a choice between two bad things, it's safer to pick the bad thing that you've already experienced. The other bad thing might be worse.
"Don't judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes."
Sometimes people criticize each other. But it's not fair to criticize someone else if you haven't had the same experiences.
"Don't put the cart before the horse."
Pay attention to what's most important. Don't let things which aren't as important take up all of your time and attention.

You shouldn't brag about being able to do something if you can't actually do it.

When you're trying to get rid of something bad, you might accidentally get rid of the good things that are connected with it as well. Don't do that.

This is a quotation from the famous American inventor and diplomat Benjamin Franklin. It means it's healthy and smart to go to sleep early and wake up early.

When something bad happens to you, don't get too upset. There's usually something good associated with any bad experience. For example, if you get fired from your job, it might push you to get a better job instead.
"Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man how to fish, he eats for a lifetime."
Don't try to help people by just giving them things. The result will be temporary. If you want to help someone long-term, teach them how to do things on their own.
"Great minds think alike."
Smart people often have the same ideas. Say this when someone has the same smart idea that you have.
"Haste makes waste."
When you try to work too quickly, you make mistakes. That can waste time, money, or materials. So slow down.
"Hindsight is 20/20"
It's easy to know what you should have done in the past, but making correct decisions is harder in the moment. This phrase means that you shouldn't judge someone's past decisions based on the information you know now.
"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."
Keep working hard and trying to succeed, even if you fail at first.
"If wishes were horses, beggars would ride."
Don't spend a lot of time wishing for things. Wishes are useless. Instead of wishing, you should work hard to achieve your goals.
"If you snooze, you lose."
You have to act quickly to get the things you want.
"If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
Don't say mean things about other people.
"If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem."
Don't just complain about problems that you see. Do something to solve the problems.

If you break something, lose money, etc., don't get too upset about it. It's already happened, so getting upset isn't useful.

Say this in a competition or game. When other people think that the result has already been decided, but you're not ready to admit that it's finished, use this phrase.

Someone who is good at a lot of different skills is usually not very good at any of them.

You should try to learn a lot. Knowing more things makes you more powerful.
"Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas."
If you associate with dishonest people, bad things will happen to you.

Make decisions carefully. Don't make a decision without thinking about it and researching it carefully.

Once you've made some decisions, it's hard to change it. Think carefully before making a decision.

People who are unhappy want to make other people unhappy too.

Don't be lazy. If you have some work that you need to do, do it now. Don't wait to do it later.

When people get power, they always do mean, dishonest things. We shouldn't allow anyone to have too much power.

Doing important work takes a long time. Be patient.

You shouldn't use all of your energy at the beginning of a project. Work slowly so that you won't run out of energy quickly.

People who don't talk a lot sometimes have really interesting thoughts.

When you have a good opportunity, go for it. Don't wait for too long.
"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree."
Children are very similar to their parents.

What you want or intend to do doesn't matter. Your actions matter. Simply wanting to do the right thing isn't enough; you have to actually do the right thing.

Men love women who can cook well.
"There's no such thing as bad publicity."
When people talk about a business, it's good for the business, even if they're saying bad things about it.
"Time is money."
Wasting time is expensive, so hurry up!
"Two is company, three is a crowd."
You say this when you want to be alone with someone (often because you are romantically interested in them) but someone else is also with you. In other words, you want the third person to go away.
"What goes around comes around."
If you do bad things to other people, bad things will happen to you. On the other hand, good things will happen to you if you do good things to other people.
"What goes up must come down."
Nothing can continue to increase forever. Everything that grows or rises will shrink or fall eventually.
"What's good for the goose is good for the gander."
A goose is a type of bird. A gander is the male version of that bird. So this phrase means that things which are good for women are also good for men, and vice versa.
"You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."
To get what you want, be nice to people. Don't yell at them or be mean.
"You can't have your cake and eat it too."
This means that you can't have everything you want. There are trade-offs in life. You may also hear people say that you can have your cake and eat it too.
"You can't teach an old dog new tricks."
Older people don't change their habits easily.
"You reap what you sow."
Your actions have consequences. When you do good things, good things happen to you. When you do bad things, bad things happen to you.
